The Waiter's Dream
I have devoted most of 2017 to organizing The New Baroque exhibition, which you can read about here, and to making a large 62 x 74 inch painting for it, titled The Waiter's Dream. Through a series of thumbnails and oil sketches, I've created a world, an imaginary place that parallels our own, and this painting is the first in a series documenting it's inhabitants and environment. Inspired by the work of Paul Delvaux, Max Ernst and Salvador Dali, it has strong roots in Surrealism.
This page documents the various stages of the work, and the many preparatory drawings and paintings leading up to finished piece. The painting was sold to a collector from Mexico. I am now working on its decedents.
