The Waiter's Dream
I devoted most of 2017 to organizing The New Baroque exhibition, which you can read about here, and to making a large 62 x 74 inch painting for it, titled The Waiter's Dream. Through a series of thumbnails and oil sketches, I've created a world that was inspired by Paul Delvaux, Max Ernst and Salvador Dali, and thus has strong roots in Surrealism. I envisioned 10 paintings that carry the narratives of this world. This one is the first.
This page documents the various stages of the work, and the many preparatory drawings and paintings leading up to finished piece.
